  10. My first step is to whip butter by itself until creamy whit than add vanilla extract, choped strawberrys, mix again than add the confectioners sugar last. Strawberrys are ripe gives off enough color and taste. By itself.

  14. How would you add fresh strawberries into your icing without it changing it's consistancy? Would adding corn starch help? Do you add the strawberries before you add the milk and extract or at the same time as you add your milk and extract? Or would adding extra powdered sugar do me justice.

Hi Tessa I was wondering if you can help me I love chocolate cake but I can't eat buttercream my nana used to make me the most amazing chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (No butter cream) sadly my nan is no longer here I can't find the frosting she used… her coconut cakes where like heaven little fairy ones after years of trying I can't work out what she was using for the Golden sponge and moist sponge 😁

    I've been making buttercream without heavy cream and using milk instead though. Can't say the difference too much except it's much easier to spread.

    I just don't like using 2 whole sticks of butter since I buy organic butter so I use shortening to try to save it. I do notice it is a bit filmy though like you said.

  19. 1 cup cool room temperature unsalted butter
    3 cup sifted powdered sugar
    2 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream

    Beat butter and sugar on low speed until incorporated. Then add in vanilla and whipping cream and beat one more time

  20. Im in a very hot country, and a mixture of shortening and butter helps make a very stable buttercream frosting. I've made it a number of times already. And i cream the butter and shortening first for about 5 mins before adding icing sugar.

  21. omg im sorry but your making it all wrong !!!!!!!!!! Your supposed to whip the butter for atleast 8 minutes until it turns white ! thats why your frosting looks all flat ! whip the butter people for like 8 minutes until its light and fluffy and almost white !

  24. kWell I made butter cream frosting using your recipe and it came out great but it was too hard to frost, i then put more whipping cream in it and that made it a little bit easier to use but still tore my cake apart. It also is yellow and that is not what I wanted as I wanted white. You also stated that if you double recipe you can frost two layers cake if you double recipe but no way would this frost a two layer cake.
