How to Knit a Rose – Beginner Easy Simple Knitted Rolled Rose Flower – DIY Knitting Tutorial

Hi I’m Donna Wolfe from naztazia.com Today i’m going to show you how to knit and easy rolled rose. Also check out the pinned post in the comment section for a link to the crochet version. The written pattern is on my website naztazia.com To make this flower I’m using Red Heart with Love Stripes and size 8 knitting needles that are 14 inch long. You can also use circulars if you wish. Plus scissors and a yarn needle. By the way be sure to click on the subscribe button to get notified of new videos from me each week. To begin cast on 85. If you do not know how to knit please see my beginner knitting video on YouTube. Then we’ll do the knit stitch back and forth for a total of six rows. This is also called the garter stitch. Once completed cut a 24 inch long tail end and thread it through a yarn needle. Now push the yarn needle into the loop on your knitting needle. If you are more comfortable you can pull the knitting needle out and do it this way. Aso if you’re on social media you can also find me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. Once completed pull on that tail end to ruffle the knitted work a bit. You want it to ruffle enough so that it starts to curl in on itself. Then take it and roll it into a rose shape. With the tail end turn over the rose and try to push the needle through all of the layers so that the yarn holds them all in place. You can take a few more stitches and then weave in the ends. And this is the finished knitted rolled rose flower.
