Cassava Cake | Panlasang Pinoy


Welcome to Panlasang Pinoy We will be making Cassava Cake today. Here are the ingredients that we will need: Grated Cassava Coconut Milk (fresh or in can) Evaporated Milk Condensed Milk Grated Cheese (I use Filipino Quickmelt cheese, but you can use sharp cheddar too) melted butter granulated white sugar eggs all-purpose flour C’mon, let’s make the cassava cake There are 2 stages in preparing or making cassava cake The first is the preparation of the batter The next is the topping we’ll start to make the batter… combine all the batter ingredients starting with the cassava (grated) next, add the butter pour half of the condensed milk in the mixing bowl add the evaporated milk add the cheese save a little cheese for the topping add the granulated sugar save some sugar for later use then add the eggs once all the batter ingredients are combined, we will now mix it thoroughly after mixing, we will add the coconut milk we will mix this one last time to make sure that all ingredients are distrubuted our next step will be to pour the mixture in the greased baking pan here is the baking pan. Make sure that you first grease it before pouring the mixture you can use a cooking oil spray for this, or simply pour regular cooking oil in the pan and spread it time to pour the mixture… we are now ready to bake our cassava cake note that it is important to preheat the oven to the desired temperature before placing the baking pan inside it took me 10 minutes to preheat my oven, this can vary depending on the brand and type of oven that you are using we’ll start to bake this now. I am now placing the tray inside the preheated oven and we will bake this for exactly 1 hour. while we are waiting for the cassava cake to get done, we can now start making the topping making the topping is easy, make sure to have a saucepan or a small cooking pot turn the heat on then combine the remaining sugar and AP flour. Mix well then pour in the pan pour the remaining condensed milk. stir add the cheese. stir make sure to mix it well to avoid lumps time to add the coconut milk stir continuously while waiting for the mixture to thickens once this mixture becomes thick and reaches the desired consistency, we can top this over the baked cassava cake additional note: on the cassava batter, you can also add macapuno (coconut sport) to make it taste better the topping mixture should like this after 10 minutes of cooking and constant stirring turn the heat off, let is set this aside and wait for the cassava cake to bake completely this is what the cassava cake should look like after baking now we are ready to add the topping… pour the topping on the cassava cake. Spread until it covers the entire area next step is to use the whites of the remaining egg. Simply brush the egg white over the topping. This will serve as the glaze for our cassava cake time to set the oven to broil mode (510F).   4. i don't use flour and granulated sugar as toppings, i used to put macapuno then pour the condensed milk and put it in oven.then put the cheese when it is to be served na po.

  6. For those asking about the temperature to bake this Filipino cassava cake, on his website it says bake it in a 350 preheated oven for one hour.

  7. Did you watch the video? He showed all the ingredients and they're in english…lol. Plus he states at the end of the video "For the exact measurements" go to his website…His website is in English for the most part.

  8. bakit everytime you post the procedure theres no measurement on how to make your recipe so how can we follow all the instructins on how to bake if theres no measuremnt of the procedure all what i need is the measuremnt to make it successful thanks and Godbless!!!

  18. I tried to do it yesterday. I followed exactly the measurement given (but lesser sugar) and it turned out great! It was actually even better than I expected it to be. It's difficult to look for evaporated milk in my area so I used fresh milk instead. It was awesome!!!! Thanks for posting! BTW, since it was my first time baking it, I just used half of the ingredients ( to avoid unnecessary waste) for an 8" square pan.

  20. never tried cassava cake only fries i use a cousin of the cassava family but am shore it would kick this cassava cake ass in taste no matter what extra ingredients you use.

  22. I've been craving for cassava cake. I've tried my auntie recipe when I visit her in Vegas and she spoiled me with a lot of food and desserts that I don't know how to make. I missed those food so I was thinking of making one of the dessert I've really been craving. All I've to do is just go to panlasang pinoy! 😄😄

  24. I made this for New Year 🙂 I used two round aluminum pans instead of a big rectangular pan. it was so delicious! my husband loved it so much he said he'll keep an eye for grated cassava each time he pass by the Asian store. tomorrow I'm going to make royal bibingka following your recipe 🙂

  26. May i know how many ml r 1 of can coconut milk…we dont sale it in here…we only have 'carton" package for coconut milk
