Beth’s Dutch Baby Pancake Recipe | ENTERTAINING WITH BETH


– Hey guys. Today I’m going to show you how to make one of my favorite breakfast treats. A Dutch Baby Pancake. I love this recipe because
it’s the perfect thing to make on a lazy weekend morning. And the best part is
I bet you already have all of these ingredients already on hand. So the first thing we’re going
to do is prepare our batter. So in a large bowl we’re going to add a half cup of flour, a quarter teaspoon of salt, a tablespoon of sugar, and just whisk that all together. Then we’re going to add a cup of milk and then whisk that together
until it’s nice and smooth. Then we’re going to add two eggs and a teaspoon of vanilla. Go ahead and just beat that
up and your batter is ready. Then the next thing we’re going to do is take out an oven safe skillet. So this is something that
can go right in the oven, so don’t use anything
that has a plastic handle. And we’re going to add in three tablespoons of unsalted butter and pop it in a 400
degree fahrenheit oven. Now we want to melt our butter in the oven so that our skillet also
has a chance to heat up. That’s going to help our pancake really become nice and risen and puffy. So as soon as your butter is melted, you can go ahead and pour in the batter. And then set your timer
for about 16 minutes. That’s when you want to check it. At that point, you want to make sure that the whole thing is nice
and risen up and golden brown, but it could take as long as 18 minutes. So just keep an eye on it. So the Dutch Baby is really best served right out of the oven, because it will start to
deflate on you as it sits. So you want to make sure
that you have everything on your table ready to
go so you can serve it as soon as it comes out of the oven. Then as soon as your pancake is done, you can bring it to the table. Dust it with some powdered sugar. And then you can also slice it into wedges and serve each one with
a squeeze of lemon juice. But it’s also really good with jam too, so you could also use your
favorite jam if you wished. I love this recipe
because it’s so comforting on a cold Winter’s day. It’s such an easy thing to whip together, and you will find it’s the
perfect little treat to enjoy when you’re just lounging
around on a Saturday morning reading the paper and
enjoying a cup of coffee. All right you guys. I’ll see you back here next

  5. My grandma used to make these a lot when I was little! My family would go to Greece and visit her. In the mornings, she would make these every morning. She was also famous for these because she would hold brunches every so often. This is a nostalgic recipe to me! Thanks for making it!!

  13. I have made this twice in the last week.I'm not a big fan of regular pancakes because they are so heavy but this little number was so light I truly was tempted to eat the whole thing. I also like the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. Can't wait to make it for my girls when they come home to visit. Thanks for all your yummy recipes and keep on sending them our way. God bless

  14. Made this today for breakfast, it was a hit all around! I added some cinnamon and nutmeg into the batter and put some thinly sliced apple on top for the second half of the bake, cinnamon in the powdered sugar to finish. Thanks Beth! 🙂

  22. The way I do it in my family (my great grandma found a recipe on a paper in her village), is we put the batter on the pan, make sure it touches the whole base of the pan. Then, we take it out, butter it, put on powder sugar, then roll it up (like an omolette) and then put on a little more powdered sugar! 😋

I love theses Dutch babies ……my ingredients are a little different however, if you heat your pan on stove top to very hot add the butter and then the batter, let cook on stove top for a minute or so, then place that in the oven I find it cooks better! I have never added sugar and I put 3 eggs. And 1/3 cup less milk, I’m trying your recipe…..thank you!
