Ariel Jr Dupra – WINNER: Cake Decorating Partial – 2017 #CulinaryVoice Scholarship Challenge

Hi I’m Ariel also known as June. My love of food started when I was four years old living with my poor family in the city of Manila, Philippines and I remember waking
up every morning and my mom’s cooking such as the aroma chicken dishes
prepared to be sold to public to make ends meet. I started my culinary journey in
the year 2010 by attending a local culinary school in Michigan and working
at the same time as savory and pastry cook throughout my six years now being a
baker for chef Wolfgang Puck’s flagship restaurant Spago. I’ve always been
fascinated by the idea of teaching people. In the first day attended
culinary school I knew then that I wanted to eventually be a pastry chef
instructor. I hope to contribute to our communities by sharing the knowledge and
experience I have gained to the upcoming young cooks and chefs of our future. It
would be a blessing and a great experience to be considered for one of
these great opportunities that the Institute of Culinary Education is
presenting. Thank you and I hope to see you soon.
